About this tour
This week-long Study Tour is designed to give you the opportunity to delve into the some of the topics covered in class and to see what research in the the field of regenerative medicine looks like firsthand. On our tour, you will learn how research can translate into clinical practice when cell and cell-free therapies are the focus.
Germany is known to be at the forefront of regenerative medicine, being described as one of the quintessential examples in this field. Heidelberg is positioning itself as a leading hub for biotechnology and life sciences with renowned institutions like the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ), the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL), and Heidelberg University all collaborating closely with industry partners to drive innovation in cell and gene therapies, synthetic immunology, and personalized medicine. Munich is a significant hub for regenerative medicine research and development, with several institutions actively involved in this field, including the Helmholtz Munich Association.
Visiting research institutes and research hospitals like these will strengthen and broaden your knowledge of the regenerative medicine field, at a time where innovative approaches are at its maximum. You will also have the opportunity to ask questions and engage in discussions to further develop your understanding of how classroom theories translate into a professional context.
