Connection to the Arctic
The Arctic is one of the most fascinating, beautiful, and increasingly important regions in the world.
Around 1/4 of the Scandinavian Peninsula extends into the Arctic Circle, as well as Greenland, which is part of the Danish kingdom. This means that Scandinavia has a huge role to play in Arctic geopolitics as they relates to climate change and ever-evolving security issues.
At the same time, indigenous peoples like the Sami of the Lapland and Greenlandic Inuit are fighting for their rights and cultural preservation.
The Arctic will only increase in relevance in the coming years and there’s no better place than Scandinavia to learn of it’s history, its impact, and what its future might look like going forward.
